It all started in 2010; and by 'it' I mean this blog

It's years since you've been there
Found!
Both Ben Watt and Tracey Thorn announced this week they have recorded a new Everything but the Girl album and that it'll be coming out in the Spring. In a week that's been far from brilliant this really is a tonic for the troops. (Their last album came out in 1999, can you believe?). And I really hope I'm not putting the cart before the horse, but talk of some 2023 live dates surely can't be far away...
Just thought you’d like to know that Tracey and I have made a new Everything But The Girl album. It’ll be out next spring ð@ebtg@tracey_thorn
I don't think I'd be overstepping the mark if I said EBTG are a BlogCon22 band; I think they cross all musical boundaries and find their way into so many varied record collections.
They straddle so many genres, I think; I know that sounds trite, but I'd be hard pushed to think of another act who crossover in quite the same way as Ben &Tracey.
Excellent news. I loved the late 90s albums as much as EBTG's earlier stuff - Temperamental is underrated in my opinion - and both Ben and Tracey's 21st Century work has also been great. This can only mean that the new album will be fantastic, can't it?!
Good news indeed.

DeleteGood news indeed and, ooh, that's an interesting point, I agree.

ReplyDeleteLove that song in the clip.
There are some great remixes of Missing out there too...
