Speke now...

Amateur photographer Keith Jones loves his native Liverpool with a passion. His latest project has seen him going around the city snapping the Pool as it is today, and then overlaying how it would all have looked 50+ years ago; the Beatles landing at Speke Airport in 1964, now John Lennon Liverpool Airport, being a prime example.

  1. John Lennon Airport's motto is 'Above Us Only Sky...'

However, I have it on reliable information that JL's baggage handlers have adopted another Imagine lyric as their personal motto - 'Imagine No Possessions...'

    1. Ringo always said he'd be quite happy if they named a baggage carousel after him.

  2. What a lovely idea; the ghosts of the past mingling with the present. I'd also love to see this done with even older photos, Victorian perhaps - so many fascinating possibilities.
