Turn back the dial
My friend Phil does up old radiograms and Bluetooths his eclectic record collection through them in his rather wonderful pub. The names on the dial conjure up all sorts of imagery and evoke so many memories. I swear I can smell the valves warming up. And that's not a euphemism.

We had an old valve radio, it must have been two foot long , brown veneer, that had been my Grandparent's ( they had bought a more modern transistor!) and I remember having to turn the knob infinitesimaly to tune it......but oh, it had the most wonderful tone, never has the dum di dum di dum di dum of The Archers theme sounded so wonderfully!
